Projects I’ve been working on: Red Salmon sequined flag and another random carving. Got some new big chunks of cottonwood bark this summer – I should get back into carving!
I’m not sure about how this flag is going to jive with my original plan and vision – I was trying to use the colors of Simbi Andezo but as I ran out of certain colors and changed a few things to fit the actual meaning of the salmon, it gets a little bit further and further rom my original plan.
I think I just need to trust my instincts on the coloring and form and realize that since this is my first foray into sequined flag making, I should just not over think it and be happy with the results. I can’t wait to finish this first half of the inner circle!
Instead of making another red/green salmon I’m going to make it a silver colored non-spawning one to cover the lifespan of the salmon more completely. I am alsoconsidering taking apart the white circles and changing them to orange so they look like salmon eggs….we’ll see!
